Modern Meet the Crone Meditation

"I have given a meditation here that shows the crone in a more modern situation. Make yourself comfortable in a space where you won’t be disturbed. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing, deep breaths in and deep breaths out..."

As your world around you dissipates you find yourself standing outside a large industrial looking wooden door in the side of a warehouse. It slides open as you are standing there. You are greeted by an elderly but spritely person, dressed in a flowy multi coloured kaftan, with wild silver white hair and seemingly a long paint brush poked behind their ear. Looking down you notice that on their feet are sparkly purple Doc Marten boots. When they see you standing there they smile and throw their arms in the air. Exclaiming a loud and enthusiastic welcome to you. You are ushered inside.

Which opens up to the inside of the warehouse, the walls all pristine white and the floors a pale bleached wood. And all around the walls are huge floor to ceiling canvas images, beautiful, haunting and striking artwork. The person brings you over a tall glass of cold drink and offers it to you. Then asks why you are here, to which you answer that you are not sure.

The reply is to offer to show you around, which you accept. They begin by explaining that they are the artist and although they have loved to paint all their life, they have only recently had the time and the money to do so properly. This is their first gallery exhibition. The images tell the story of their life so far.

Leading you to the first painting you are asked to look at it and tell them what you see. Take your time and study the image, what do you see, what feelings does it inspire?

Talk to them about it and get their perspective too. Walk around the whole exhibition, they lead you to each painting in turn and you both discuss your feelings about each one.

Once you have seen it all you are invited to sit on a large comfortable couch with them and talk about what you have seen and felt.

Take your time and listen to what they have to tell you.

When you are ready you thank them for their time and guidance, and they lead you back to the door. Waving you goodbye as you step outside.

Remember what you have talked about.

When you are ready slowly and gently come back to this reality. Wriggle your fingers and toes and open your eyes. Have something to eat and drink.
