It is coming up to that time of the year when we are likely to be mingling with family and friends, not all of whom may be joyful!
Here are some simple ways to help keep your environment protected, peaceful and harmonious. You may already have most of the items I have included in your food cupboard but are easily obtained from supermarkets.
The important part of working these spells is your intention, as you place each item visualise everyone being happy, convivial and you being relaxed, contented knowing your home is safe from negativity.
Sachets
Containing any combination of dried rosemary, bay, lavender and rose hips, with a clear or rose quartz crystal if you have them, these can be made to look like festive ornaments if you have some green, silver or gold material, or use an envelope or folded paper. If you can make pretty, place them in amongst your other decorations in the busy places people will gather. If you want to keep them even more hidden, tuck them under cushions, chairs, stick them underneath the dining table etc..
Fresh Herb Bundles
Useful to hang in busy areas, these again can be made to look like festive décor by using pretty ribbons, adding bells or other small ornaments, they can even be placed on the table by each person to give a boost of friendliness. My choice of herbs would be –
Cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, rosemary, thyme, sage, mint, pine, rose hips, holly, mistletoe.
Rose floating candles
Another simple decorative spell, make some full moon water (water placed in a window facing the moon, or if you have it collect snow on the full moon). Place this in pretty bowls, sprinkle in some rose petals, add some rose water (available from continental food stores) or a few drops of rose fragrance oil, then place onto the water floating candles. Can be used as table displays anywhere where you feel the energy needs the rosy glow.
You could adapt this to use other herbs instead of rose petals.
If you don’t do decorations but still have folk coming to visit, a few well positioned aloe vera plants would fit well, and be useful to keep your home cleansed and protected all year round. You could charge a pebble or crystal to sit on the soil around the plant to boost its power, or create a sigil/symbol; fold this and place it under the plant pot.
