As Rachel said “where do I start...”
At the Winter Solstice last year, I did a 12-month rune reading for the year ahead. The runes spoke of change, new beginnings, strength, moving forward and trusting that everything was on the right path.
2024 started as it usually does, taking January to do a bit of decluttering, both physically and mentally. Tidying up in preparation for the months ahead. January is always a bit of a ‘bleurgh’ month – it is cold, dreary and I usually spend some time at my laptop deleting and sorting old stuff, crocheting or doing a jigsaw or two, maybe sitting with a notepad and pen for those early ideas that come to mind.
February is the month that we usually put our heads together at KWHQ to plan for the year ahead. It will always involve a café somewhere with notebooks, pens and lots of coffee, tea and cake.
I have been with Kitchen Witch now for 13 years this next October and in that time, I have seen lots of changes. A couple of those changes have been sad, but generally, change allows for renewal, growth and fresh ideas. Circumstances brought another change in spring and as strange as it may sound, I feel that Kitchen Witch have come full circle, we are now at the point where the universe intended us to be – and I feel very happy about it!
The following months saw the Kitchen Witch team of Rachel, Heather and I at lots of Pagan Festivals – Wandering Witches, Wild Witchcraft Conference, Pagan Tribal Gathering, The Wight Raven Camp, Witchfest in Basingstoke, to name just a few, as well as running workshops at Raw Eden Apothecary and Crystal Wicca.
2024 was the year that we launched the Kitchen Witch Emporium and our unique Triad Reading service.
Heather and I have always given Rachel support at her many wonderful speaking events that she has attended over the years, but this past year has seen us more involved in running workshops and rituals too, which we have loved doing. It was a little out of my comfort zone (and I’m still known as the quiet one) but I must give massive ‘hugs’ and a huge “thank you” to Rachel and Heather for all their support, encouragement and most of all, for their friendship.
As I sit here typing with a cup of tea and a mince pie, I think about all the plans that we have already in place for 2025, the fun that we are going to have meeting old friends and new – and I can’t wait – it’s going to be Fabulous!!
As Rachel and Ness have said “where do I start...”
This time last year, my reading for the year ahead indicated being pushed out of my comfort zone and new beginnings, fortunately I had no idea the scale that would be on!
I have been with Kitchen Witch for 10 years now, and as Ness said, have loved supporting Rachel at her talks. This year, from Spring time onwards, I didn’t just get so much pushed out of my comfort zone as catapulted, it has been a wonderful, terrifying steep learning curve, which I am absolutely loving! I wouldn’t have been able to do any of these adventures without the encouragement and support I get from Rachel and Ness, and for putting up with my naughtiness! However, like Ness, the most important of all for me is their friendship.
Plans are well underway for next year, we will be at camps, events, holding workshops, as well as carrying on our online workings. We all feel connection, communication and sharing is so important, 2024 has been amazing, 2025 is gathering pace and looks to be even more exciting!
